Every card that enters The Merchant Vault undergoes a multi-point "Vault Verification" process before it is listed. We use professional-grade diagnostic tools to ensure every artifact is 100% authentic.

• Digital Micro-Inspection (50x – 200x): We use a high-definition digital microscope to inspect the card's printing "Rosettes." Authentic TCG cards are printed using a specific offset lithography process that creates a sharp, clean "honeycomb" pattern. Modern fakes often use inkjet or laser printing, which appears pixelated or "blurry" under our lenses.

• The "Black Layer" Test: Genuine TCG cards (like Pokémon and Magic) are constructed with a specific core—usually a black or blue light-blocking layer sandwiched between two layers of cardstock. While we respect the double-sleeve method for active play, the Vault utilizes Premium Easy-Glide sleeves. Leading grading authorities (PSA/BGS) often prefer these as they eliminate the risk of corner-compression and surface 'clouding' that can occur with tight-fitting inner sleeves during long-term storage or removal for inspection.

Due to the volatile nature of the market and our rigorous authentication process, all sales of raw and graded 'Artifacts' are final.
